“A clever woman once said; ‘fair is foul and foul is fair’. On that note we threw in a young, unacknowledged hoppy pilsner gave it a limp, wrinkly flavor and finished it off with an insulting high price that will give you a foul feeling in your mouth. That’s why we name Evil Twin Brewing’s Low Life the Gold digger of Beers”.
Served in a flute glass the hazy straw-golden pour whips up a bubbly 2 finger cap which maintains well, eventually settling to a solid 5-6mm. Good head retention and laced really well. Aroma is slightly citric with zesty orange, citrus rind and grassy/herbal hops coming through above the subtle bready/biscuity malts. In the background we get soft booze, rice crackers and hay. Good depth on the nose. Medium carbonation with a crisp mouth feel that’s quite light on the palate. Flavour is unbelievably clean and super super sessional. Light grassy hops upfront with zesty orange, bready malt and subtle spice developing through the mid. Finishes bitter and dry with reasonable length. 5.5% ABV is above average but it’s well concealed. So well balanced and so easy to drink, we could easily sit on this all afternoon. Fantastic pilsner we were almost tempted to skol it. Another good addition to this breweries huge repertoire.
