Iron bar local pale ale

Rating:

imageTried this clean and sessional pale ale on tap at the small micro-brewery in port Douglas, QLD. Served in a standard schooner glass the golden amber pour boasts a slight red tinge. Decent 1 inch white head that retains well. Good lacing. Aroma has a gorgeous floral profile. Subtle hints of grassy hops, citrus, candy, and grain as well. Good body. A lot of malt sweetness and grain initially which then mellows off in to a mildly assertive hop bitterness. We got quite a grassy aftertaste with hints of pine and herbs dominating the back end. Very sessional. We drank this on a 28 degree day and it went down a treat. Quite a low strength pale ale at 4.7% but it doesn’t lack in flavour. All up we thought it was a timid but well brewed pale ale.
