Mash ‘copycat A.I.P.A’

Rating:

image“Our new seasonal, perhaps 1 off, Copy Cat AIPA is now pouring at Mash Swan Valley. A 6.8% 70ibu ball tearer of a U.S IPA, its laden with a big Piney, Stonefruity nose, enough malt to stop the bitterness getting out of hand and a long lingering resinous bitterness. It wont be around for long, so get in quick while it lasts. IPA drinkers will not be dissapointed!!”

This is an IPA from Mash brewing in W.A. This beer has a cool label which incorporates artists locally..nice. Straight off the nose we get a lovely piney, tropical punch of hops. Pours a dark golden hue with mild carbonation and little/no head. Minimal lacing on the tulip glass. The hops here must be Citra or Simcoe for that lovely pine flavour to be coming through so firmly. Lovely lemon/mild grapefruit and peach merge very nicely with the malt to balance out the bitterness, which could overpower on the tongue, but doesn’t. This is a damn smooth drop. It has the right alc vol at 6.8% which doesn’t dominate but a 4 pack (which is how they’re sold) would probably be enough. Has a full bodied mouth feel and leaves us wanting more after every sip. This is a great brew as rated by rate beer.com – 96/100. Solid effort.
