Molly Rose ‘Beaming’ IPA

Rating:

ABV: 5.7%

“Everyone starts smiling when the sun comes out. We think that this refreshing IPA with Mosaic and Amarillo will match your grin.”

Glassware: IPA

Appearance: Light golden complexion with a thumb of well maintained head atop. Good retention and lace work as it ebbs.

Aroma: Nice little fruit basket thing going on but nothing overly exciting. Mostly centered around the orange citrus i.e orange, tangerine, mandarin etc but also carrying subtle hints of pine, grassy/herbal notes, light florals and mild stonefruits. Something a little candied in here too…musk maybe?

Flavour: If we had to choose we’d say it’s leaning more on the West Coast side but with the typical Aussie subtlety. Restrained grapefruit, lemon and pine to the fore…grassy notes in support. More mixed citrus through the middle, adding a bit of pithy bitterness to the fray before a dry, grassy and citrusy finish pulls up a bit short.

Mouthfeel: Fairly inoffensive. Smooth and well balanced with gentle bitterness in the swallow. Moderate body and Co2. 5.7% ABV is well hidden.

Overall: We don’t want to be harsh critics but it is very meh. Definitely ticks the sessional box. Although the booze could creep up on you if one wasn’t careful. Not bad just too pedestrian for us.
