And to make it even more interesting, the origin of coffee beans change with each batch.”

Glassware: Snifter.

Appearance: Dense black with a thumb of tan foam perched on top. The head holds together pretty well and works a healthy lace down the walls of the glass.

Aroma: One word….heaven! The mix of that absolutely divine coffee and the lightly roasted malts is just next level. We want to bathe in it! It’s also very nicely supported by sweet milk sugars, vanilla, milk chocolate and caramel. Some may see it as a bit one-dimensional but if you love coffee and dark beer (like us!) then get amongst it!

Flavour: Hhhmmm…not as convincing as the nose unfortunately. The palate is still set alight with delicious sweet espresso, lactose and vanilla cream but it seems to lack that bottom end; like a big roasted malt bitterness to give it some oomph. It stays mild as it sails through the mid picking up hints of cocoa powder, milk chocolate and more sweet espresso coffee to finish.

Mouthfeel: Foamy, non-offensive and moderately bodied with lifted co2. That 7% AbV is tucked away rather well.

Overall: Quite the approachable stout here. We’d have to admit we love our stouts to be heavy and in-your-face but this is one of those one off occasions where we’d be happy to just kick back and throw it down. Even though that could be a little dangerous!
