This brewery is fast becoming a favorite for us, there hasn’t been a beer by these guys that we haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. Served in an IPA glass the golden-orange pour offers a dash of ruby red hues. Atop sits a well maintained 1 finger white head that eventually settles to a thin covering. OK lacing. Off the nose we picked up plenty of mild grapefruit, citrus peel, pine and passion fruit with the slightest touch of malt backing. Very smooth mouth feel with medium carbonation. A little heavier bodied than we were expecting which is always a welcome surprise. Upfront the assertive hop bitterness fades away slowly allowing the grassy hops, pine, grapefruit and subtle malts to come through in the mid-palate. Crisp, but not overly dry finish. A little unbalanced but that’s expected from an IPA. We’re sure the 4.7% ABV, well presented hops and overall drink-ability of this beer is what they were going for by naming it the ‘session ale’. This IPA is extremely smooth and drinkable, it would be oh so easy to sit on this for a long day on the liquid gold.
