Three boys IPA

You just can’t go wrong with a three boys beer. These kiwi masters are a class act and this IPA definitely doesn’t disappoint. Served in an IPA glass the gorgeous dark orange pour offers light copper hues. The aroma is zesty and citrus-driven as subtle grapefruit, resinous pine, lychee, passion fruit, subtle pepper and caramel malts come forward. In the mouth it’s smooth and well-rounded. Medium body. Flavour isn’t as bitter as we thought it was going to be but it is still definitely felt initially. Some mellowing malt sweetness follows through the mid-palate. Dry, citric finish with good length. Just enough of an assertive hop bitterness to make you think it’s a great IPA but just under the amount where you suck your tongue trying to produce saliva. Only 5.2% ABV so it is actually quite a sessional IPA. Could easily down another 5 of these. Big ups.
