“X-Ray is going to get into your bones…
Rich and complex, is brewed with British malts.
Dark colour, residual sweetness and bitterness
are well balanced with the 8,5 ABV…
It’s a big fat Porter!
Serving temperature: 7-9 °C”
From the Italian brewery that has brought us beers such as the Caterpillar APA and the space man IPA comes this ominous looking porter. Served in a beer tulip the mat black pour generates a compacted tan head that eventually shrinks down to a very fine covering on top. Minimal lacing. This porter boasts a lovely aroma of coffee, dark malt sweetness, caramel, licorice and subtle chocolate. In the mouth it’s oily with mild-medium carbonation. Medium body. The flavour is offering up a light smokiness initially with hints of coffee, leading to a nice touch of chocolate and dark fruits in the mid. The finish is roasty with a lingering bitterness on the back end. There is also a substantial molasses-like sweetness that we don’t get from most porters too. The 8.5% ABV is actually really well buried among the rich and dense palate. To sum it up it’s a pretty tasty beer with plenty of character, another good brew from these guys.
