A soft, pillowy mouthfeel and rounded bitterness ensure Julius will never tire the palate – a true joy to drink!”

Glassware: IPA glass.

Appearance: Pours like an orange milkshake which generates a whopping four finger head. It gradually breaks down and leaves a smattering of lace in its wake.

Aroma: Pow! It hits the olfactory’s with serious vigour. Lots of fresh tropical fruity hops, peach skins, orange citrus, mandarin and a hint of that fruit salad-esque brekky juice character. There’s a slightly dry and bready malt structure which offers a fine balance to all those gorgeous hops. Smells fantastic!

Flavour: Taking on more of the NEIPA qualities with ripe stonefruits; mango, peach, papaya etc. Definite juice bomb, hitting hints of those creamy oat and vanilla notes, some yeasty fruit esters and sweet orange citrus midway. Great carry through – ripe fleshy fruits, creamy orange and tropical fruits finish it off with a tickle of bitterness developing on the back palate.

Mouthfeel: Dense, gelatinous, semi full body. Super mild bitterness with that 6.8% AbV adding some background warmth.

Overall: It’s hard to say whether it’s better than the King Julius or not. It’s definitely smoother and more crushable but that’s expected being the smaller brother. The aroma is absolutely popping…the flavour profile… maybe just lacking a bit of the same intensity. Still a very good NEIPA.
