“This is our unique twist on the New England style craze of a hazy IPA. Loaded with Calypso, Azacca, Mosaic, Amarillo and El Dorado hops – juicy, hoppy, and delicious – West Coast style. Let’s just say the West Coast is the Best Coast.”
Glassware: IPA.
Appearance: Hazy pastel yellow-orange with a big and creamy three finger head. It holds together nicely and works a healthy lace down the glass.
Aroma: Not getting a great deal off it. There is still an inch of head hanging around though. Once the head eventually settles it still isn’t displaying much intensity. Slight fruit juicy-ness… pineapple, orange citrus, melon, mango, papaya, light florals, pine and apple/pear. Something a little herbaceous happening too…comes off as a little earthy. Interesting.
Flavour: Showing a bit more citrus as opposed to the aroma. Orange/rind, grapefruit and a hint of lime. Definitely getting pineapple, mango, papaya, apple/pear, subtle spice and or resin, pine and earthy herbals. Somewhat dry and slightly bitter finish with traces of papaya, pear and herbs on the back end.
Mouthfeel: Fairly smooth, creamy, light-moderate Co2. A nicely tempered bitterness. 6.2% ABV is spot on for the style.
Overall: Not as polished as CAPA but still a good drop in its own right. Certainly hits the burgeoning ‘no coast’ style nicely. Not bad.
