“YOU MAY RECOGNIZE THE JEDI JUICE FROM GABS 2017 – ORIGINALLY BREWED FOR THE FESTIVAL AS A BIG BROTHER TO THE CHOP IPA – A WAY FOR US TO PUSH THAT RECIPE FURTHER, AND BORN OUT OF A LOVE OF NEIPAS. The response was huge and so we couldn’t resist now bringing it to you in a can!”
Glassware: IPA glass.
Appearance: Hazy yellow complexion with a soft orange tint. It forms a thumb of head before collapsing to a collar. Patchy lace work clings to the glass as it ebbs.
Aroma: Definitely displaying the breakfast juice characters. Lots of mango, pineapple, passion fruit with subtle hints of banana peeking through. Creamy orange citrus and stonefruits in support. Some grassy and herbal hop notes hanging about in the background. Sturdy white bready malts to balance.
Flavour: On point. Mango, pineapple, passion fruit and melon for days. Subtle grapefruit acidity creeping through the mid. Herbal/grassy hop notes tailing in late as it finishes dry, citric and slightly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, well rounded and porous. 7.1% ABV kept at bay. Low co2 with medium body.
Overall: After reviewing the likes of Heady Topper, Very Green etc it’s hard not to criticise anything less. This is different though, this would almost have to be Australia’s version of the two. No where near as good but certainly on the right track. Impressive.
