Prancing Pony Brewery ‘The Zeppelin’ NEIPA

Rating:

imageGlassware: Poured into a shaker.

Appearance: Hazy dark Yellow with a 10mm thick white head that retains perfectly. Does not reduce at all. Plenty of carbonation seen through the body especially at the almost-clear base. Lots of patchy lacing down the glass.

Aroma: Smells like a IPA – nice and hoppy, full of citrus, some pine, caramels. Maybe some resin. Tropical fruits? Are we drinking a NEIPA here or an IPA?

Flavour: Ok so NEIPA like juice flavours come in straight away combined with citrus grapefruit and orange peel bitterness. More pine resin, caramel malts, and a touch a zing on the palate that we find in NEIPAs but subdued. It’s a real hybrid this beer as we think it’s tropical fruit and then it’s more citrus. Quite Moreish.

Mouthfeel: Subdued bitterness blends nicely with the fruity hops. Alc vol is 6.6% and it’s bang on as it has no/little presence. Body is moderate and good length here. It’s smooth enough to really imbibe. Back palate leaves a drying yet refreshing experience.

Overall: This is an enjoyable hybrid IPA. It’s borderline NEIPA but the overall fruity/hoppy kick takes over from that. We would have a few of these.
