Hargreaves hill brewing co. Pale Ale

Rating:

image“This is a medium body English style Pale Ale in which we use American Cascade and Amarillo hops. Some say that it has a marmalade bitternesss. It is full of flavour. Great to try with a Steak Sandwich, Beef Burger, or hearty and tasty steak.”

Picked this one up from a random bottle shop in Bendigo. Poured into a shaker glass the appearance displayed a slightly hazy golden orange with a tightly held one and a half finger head that dissipated slowly to a thin film on top. Mild lace. Lovely floral hop-aromatic hints of passion fruit, pine, peach, caramel and subtle spice are beautifully balanced to produce this gorgeous aroma. Mild-medium carbonation with just short of a full, rounded mouth feel. Upfront the palate is met with delicate malts and a decent smattering of hop bitterness, stone fruit and orange blossom. Some caramel malts in the mid-palate offer a light sweetness which is rounded off by dry, bitter finish. The length is a little short but essentially a very sessional APA. 4.9% ABV is well hidden and spot on for this beer. Such a sessional and tasty pale ale here, we could down these all afternoon. Great offering.
